Danny Aerts resigns as CEO of The Swedish Internet Foundation next year
Danny Aerts, CEO of The Swedish Internet Foundation, has informed the foundation's board that he will resign as CEO in August 2021. The work of recruiting a new CEO begins immediately.
Danny Aerts came from Spray to The Swedish Internet Foundation in 2006 and has been CEO of the organization since then. He has now informed the board of The Swedish Internet Foundation that he will resign as CEO in August 2021. The decision to leave is entirely his own.
- After a long professional career in various positions, including almost 15 years as CEO of The Swedish Internet Foundation, I feel that it is time to end this chapter and start another. Our organization is prosperous and stable, so I think this is a good time, says Danny Aerts, CEO, The Swedish Internet Foundation.
The best conditions
Ylva Hambraeus Björling has been granted renewed confidence as chairman of the board of The Swedish Internet Foundation for a further two-year term. She will lead the recruitment group to find a new CEO. This work will begin immediately.
- An extremely important assignment to recruit a new CEO awaits. This needs to be allowed to take time, and to be done properly. Since there's some time before Danny Aerts leaves, we have good conditions for a successful recruitment, says Ylva Hambraeus Björling, Chairman of the Board, The Swedish Internet Foundation.
Danny Aerts will continue as CEO of The Swedish Internet Foundation until August 2021, with the full confidence of the board. The work of The Swedish Internet Foundation continues according to the strategic plan adopted by the board, which extends to the year 2022.
