DNS Hackathon – welcome to join us on May 23–24 at Internetstiftelsen
Calling all DNS enthusiasts, developers, researchers, and engineers! Internetstiftelsen (.se), is thrilled to invite you to an in-person DNS Hackathon on May 23–24 2026.
The hackathon will take place right here at our offices in Stockholm. This is your opportunity to connect with fellow DNS enthusiasts, share ideas, and build innovative tools, visualizations, research prototypes, or enhancements to the DNS ecosystem. Whether you’re passionate about performance, privacy, security, analytics – or simply love the DNS protocol – this event is for you!

Topics so far
- Developing software for use in DNS anycast clusters (real-time threat- and performance-monitoring of servers, platform for deployment/troubleshooting)
- Making a DNS monitoring app inside a Kubernetes sidecar (monitor DNS behaviour inside a Kubernetes cluster)
- Working on EduDIG/Nerdig (a dig-like DNS lookup tool for learning about DNS, see [Nerdig](https://nerdig.examples.nu)
- Implementation of [Generalized NOTIFY](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-thomassen-dnsop-generalized-dns-notify/)
- Time series displays of ccTLD DNSSEC misconfiguration rate (based on OPENINTEL data)
- Time series displays of HTTPS misconfiguration (to compare TLS and DNSSEC failures)
- Next generation RPZ (continue work from [previous hackathon](https://codeberg.org/DNS-Hackathon-Fall-2025/rpz-ng ) )
